• Fixed Term, Full time position until September 2028
• Parkville location with flexible, hybrid working
• $145,000 to $190,000 per annum + salary packaging + super + 5 weeks annual leave + an accrued day off per month

About the team

This role sits within the Executive division and reports directly to the Chief Operating Officer. Working closely with senior executives, operational leaders, clinicians, finance, business intelligence and health information professionals, the team provides strategic analysis and decision support that enables Peter Mac to optimise operational performance, improve sustainability and strengthen its position within a complex healthcare funding environment.

About the role

This newly created senior leadership role provides executive-level strategic advice, analysis and decision support to optimise organisational performance in a complex operational and health funding environment. Leveraging internal and external data sources, you will translate complex activity, funding, revenue, casemix and cost information into practical insights and improvement opportunities that support Peter Mac's ongoing sustainability and strategic ambitions.

A regular day will see you:

• Providing strategic analysis, insights and recommendations to support Executive decision-making and operational optimisation.
• Identifying and delivering revenue optimisation opportunities across activity-based funding, MBS, private patient revenue and other Victorian funding streams.
• Leading enterprise-wide operational improvement initiatives through analysis of activity, performance, costing and casemix data.
• Developing evidence-based advocacy and reform strategies to influence state and national cancer funding models and policy settings.

About you

You are a strategic and influential leader who combines exceptional analytical capability with strong stakeholder engagement skills. You thrive in complex environments, can translate data into action, and are passionate about improving healthcare outcomes through operational excellence and sustainable funding solutions.

You'll bring with you:

• Deep experience in health service funding models, including ABF, NWAU/WAU, MBS, clinical costing, and executive or Board-level reporting.
• Demonstrated success using data to develop business cases, support service planning, and model financial and operational impacts.
• Significant experience leading and scaling complex operational improvement programs.
• Experience producing and interpreting enterprise-level performance reporting and influencing organisational decisions and outcomes.
• Health degree qualification and tertiary qualifications in health and/or business management or administration.
• Proven experience identifying and delivering revenue optimisation opportunities within a public health environment.

Desirable:

• Senior leadership experience within a healthcare environment.
• Track record of delivering against quality, safety, access and financial targets.
• Strong change management capability within complex organisations.
• Experience with Power BI, SQL, data warehousing platforms and contemporary data governance frameworks.
