The Better Ventures Program – September 2026 traineeship intake is now open!
We are excited to announce the September 2026 intake of our Certificate I in Hospitality paid traineeship through the Better Ventures program with Better Together!
This is a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to gain and develop essential skills and knowledge to excel in the hospitality industry.
This 24-week paid traineeship combines hands-on experience in a real café, commercial kitchen & function space with nationally recognised training. You'll gain practical skills, industry certifications, and personalised mentoring - all while getting paid to learn.
Training is delivered face-to-face in Caboolture at our learning hub and café, and includes both theory and practical assessments and training.
Trainees must be motivated and prepared to consistently attend work and actively participate for the full duration of the program, including attending work full time, 5 days a week with a good attitude and motivation to 'earn and learn'.
What You'll GainAlongside the Certificate I in Hospitality, trainees will complete:
Responsible Service of Alcohol (SITHFAB021)
Responsible Service of Gambling (SITHGAM022)
Prepare and Serve Espresso Coffee - Barista Skill Set (SITHFAB025)
Food Health & Safety Training Certificate
Mental Health First Aid Training Certificate
NDIS Worker Orientation Training Certificate
Employee Blue Card & Yellow Card
1:1 support, coaching & mentoring
Job readiness training & development workshops
External work experience & volunteering opportunities
Support with post-traineeship employment
Industry & job interview clothing
Free on-site parking
Access to an Employee Assistance Program
Referrals to external support services
To be eligible for this traineeship, you must:
Be eligible to obtain a Working With Children Check (Blue Card) and Yellow Card
NOT have previously completed a Certificate in Hospitality (I-IV)
NOT have previously enrolled in a Skilling Queenslanders for Work program
Be willing and able to commit to full-time attendance
Be motivated to work in a real hospitality environment and learn on the job
Be at least 15 years of age or older and not currently enrolled in any school or study
Be an Australian citizen or permanent resident with valid Australian work rights

Location: Better Together Hub @ 11 Toovey Street, Caboolture
Duration: 24 weeks
Hours: 7:45am – 3:45pm, Monday to Friday (full-time)
As a full-time, paid employee, trainees will be paid for any gazetted public holidays.
