Business Development Manager (Construction Industry)

About the role

Touchstone Building Services is seeking a Business Development Manager (Construction Industry) to join our growing team. This is a full-time position based in Eight Mile Plains, Queensland. In this strategic role, you will be responsible for identifying and cultivating new business opportunities within the construction industry, driving revenue growth and expanding our market presence. You will be the key driver of our new business initiatives, working to build lasting client relationships and establish Touchstone as a preferred partner for construction services, especially with regards to building repairs, capital works and maintenance.

What you'll be doing

• Identify, research and pursue new business opportunities within the construction industry, mainly in commercial and industrial sectors

• Develop and implement effective business development strategies to achieve sales targets and grow market share

• Build and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, architects, project managers and construction companies

• Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, presentations and pitches to prospective clients

• Conduct market analysis and competitor research to identify emerging opportunities and industry trends

• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery and client satisfaction

• Manage the sales pipeline, track leads and monitor progress towards business development objectives

• Attend industry events, trade shows and networking functions to build brand awareness and generate leads

• Provide regular reporting on business development activities, pipeline status and revenue forecasts

• Negotiate contracts and terms with new clients to achieve mutually beneficial agreements

What we're looking for

• 3+ years' experience in business development, sales or account management, preferably within the construction, building services or related industry

• Demonstrated track record of successfully winning new business and achieving or exceeding sales targets

• Strong knowledge of the construction industry, including understanding of key players, procurement processes and project lifecycles

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with diverse stakeholders

• Proven ability to identify client needs and develop tailored solutions that address business objectives

• Strong negotiation and closing skills with experience in contract management

• Self-motivated and results-driven with the ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Excellent organisational and time management skills with the capacity to manage multiple opportunities simultaneously

• Proficiency in CRM systems and Microsoft Office applications

• Valid driver's license and willingness to travel within the region

• Relevant qualifications in sales, business development or construction-related fields are advantageous
