Speech Pathologist

Learn to Shine is seeking a passionate, energetic, and motivated Speech Pathologist to join our growing multidisciplinary allied health team in Vermont, Victoria.

This is an exciting opportunity to become part of a supportive and collaborative clinic delivering meaningful, evidence-based, child-led and family-centred therapy services to children and adolescents accessing the NDIS.

You will work alongside experienced Certified Behaviour Analysts (CBA), Behaviour Support Practitioners, Counsellors, Occupational Therapists, and Therapy Assistants to provide coordinated support that empowers children and their families to achieve meaningful communication, participation, and everyday life outcomes.

About the Role

You will deliver speech pathology services across:

• Clinic-based therapy
• Home and community-based supports
• Kindergarten and school settings, as required
• Individual and small-group programs

Your caseload may include children and adolescents with:

• Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD)
• Developmental delays
• Speech and language difficulties
• Social communication challenges
• Alternative and Augmentative Communication (AAC) needs
• Psychosocial, physical, and complex support needs
• Other disabilities funded under the NDIS

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality speech pathology assessments, intervention, and reviews for children and adolescents
• Develop and implement individualised, goal-focused therapy plans aligned with each child's strengths, needs, family priorities, and NDIS goals
• Support development of speech, language, communication, social communication, and functional communication skills
• Assess and support children with AAC and communication support needs, where appropriate
• Support children to develop communication skills across everyday environments, including home, school, kindergarten, and community settings
• Work collaboratively with families and carers to build confidence, capacity, and practical communication strategies
• Develop and provide individual and group-based therapy programs
• Complete relevant assessments, clinical reports, progress reports, and recommendations in line with professional and NDIS requirements
• Maintain accurate clinical documentation, progress notes, assessments, and recommendations
• Collaborate closely with Behaviour Analysts, Behaviour Support Practitioners, Occupational Therapists, Counsellors, Therapy Assistants, educators, families, and support teams
• Provide guidance and strategies to parents, carers, educators, and support workers to promote communication development across environments
• Contribute positively to a supportive multidisciplinary team culture through collaboration, shared learning, and problem-solving
• Build your caseload gradually with ongoing mentoring, supervision, and clinical support

Essential Criteria

• Bachelor or Master qualification in Speech Pathology
• Current Speech Pathology Australia membership and/or eligibility for practising membership
• Eligibility to work in Australia
• Experience working with children and/or adolescents
• Experience working with NDIS participants
• Strong clinical reasoning, organisational, and report-writing skills
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
• Passion for child-led, strengths-based, and family-centred intervention

Desirable Experience

Experience in one or more of the following will be highly regarded:

• Paediatric speech pathology
• Early intervention
• Autism and developmental disabilities
• Social communication and pragmatic language
• AAC and communication supports
• Complex communication needs
• NDIS assessments and reporting
• School and kindergarten-based therapy
• Group programs and social communication programs
• Working collaboratively with Behaviour Analysts and other allied health professionals
