Expression of Interest - Health and Hygiene Coordinator

GM3 is inviting expressions of interest from experienced mining professionals for potential roles at Tahmoor Mine following the proposed recommencement of operations. 

We are excited about the opportunity to support the next chapter of Tahmoor Mine and are looking for experienced people who would like to help build a safe, productive and sustainable operation. 

Successful candidates for these roles will be employed by GM3 and are expected to be based at Tahmoor Mine following completion of the proposed acquisition.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Reporting to the HSRT Superintendent, the Health and Hygiene Coordinator will provide specialist health and hygiene support to help Tahmoor Mine manage occupational hygiene risks, meet regulatory requirements and deliver safe, sustainable operational outcomes.  

This role is based at Tahmoor Mine, located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, approximately 80 kilometres south-west of Sydney and within easy commuting distance of Wollongong, the Macarthur region and surrounding communities. 

Key responsibilities include: 

• Manage health and hygiene risks through effective standards, procedures and programs. 

• Provide specialist hygiene advice to support compliance, approvals and operational decision-making. 

• Coordinate exposure monitoring, reporting and verification activities. 

• Analyse hygiene data, identify trends and recommend practical improvements to controls and systems. 

• Communicate hygiene risks, priorities and improvement actions to leaders and operational teams. 

ABOUT YOU 

You are an experienced health, hygiene or safety professional with strong technical judgement, clear communication skills and a practical approach to risk management. You are confident working with operational teams, interpreting data, influencing stakeholders and supporting continuous improvement in a complex heavy industry or mining environment. 

You will have experience and demonstrate capability in the following: 

• Relevant tertiary qualification in science, safety, engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience. 

• Eligibility for membership with the Australian Institute of Occupational Hygienists will be highly regarded. 

• Understanding of occupational hygiene management processes, exposure assessment, monitoring programs and relevant industry standards. 

• Sound knowledge of health and safety risk management principles, including incident investigation and material risk control. 

• Demonstrated ability to analyse data, identify issues and recommend practical improvement actions. 

• Experience contributing to change or improvement initiatives in mining, heavy industry or another operational environment. 

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build effective working relationships across operational and functional teams.
