Expression of Interest - Mining Coordinator

GM3 is inviting expressions of interest from experienced mining professionals for potential roles at Tahmoor Mine following the proposed recommencement of operations. 

We are excited about the opportunity to support the next chapter of Tahmoor Mine and are looking for experienced people who would like to help build a safe, productive and sustainable operation. 

Successful candidates for these roles will be employed by GM3 and are expected to be based at Tahmoor Mine following completion of the proposed acquisition.

ABOUT THE ROLE 

Reporting to the relevant departmental Superintendent, the Mining Coordinator will provide leadership and coordination across the assigned operational area, supporting safe, compliant and reliable execution of the mine plan. 

Opportunities may be available across a range of operational areas in the business, including: 

• Development 

• Longwall 

• Mine Services 

• Projects 

• Gas Drainage 

The role is focused on translating weekly and longer-term plans into practical daily and shift plans, coordinating people, contractors, materials and resources, resolving operational conflicts and supporting delivery of the area improvement plan. You will work closely with operations, maintenance, technical and support functions to ensure work is completed safely, cost effectively and in line with site standards, operating procedures and business priorities. 

This role is based at Tahmoor Mine, located in the Southern Highlands of NSW, approximately 80 kilometres south-west of Sydney and within easy commuting distance of Wollongong, the Macarthur region and surrounding communities. 

Key activities include but are not limited to  

• Coordinate daily and shift plans to support safe and efficient delivery of the weekly mine plan.  

• Manage trades, contractors, equipment, materials and priorities across the assigned operational area.  

• Work with operations, maintenance, technical and support teams to resolve conflicts and keep work on track.  

• Monitor area performance, support reporting requirements and contribute to corrective actions.  

• Identify and support improvement initiatives that strengthen safety, productivity and reliability.  

• Ensure work is completed safely, cost effectively and in line with site standards, procedures and expectations.  

• Support risk management, critical controls and safety improvement actions.  

• Assist the Superintendent with planning, performance review, cost control and delivery of area priorities. 

ABOUT YOU 

You are an experienced mining or heavy industry professional with strong coordination, planning and operational leadership capability. You communicate clearly, manage competing priorities and work well with operational, maintenance, technical and contractor teams. 

What you’ll bring: 

• Relevant qualifications in engineering or related discipline, and/or Deputy and/or Undermanager qualifications 

• Experience in underground mining or heavy industry, ideally in a coordination, supervisory or frontline leadership role. 

• Practical experience planning, scheduling, prioritising and coordinating daily work activities, resources and operational priorities. 

• A demonstrated commitment to safety, risk management and critical control processes. 

• Demonstrated leadership, communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including coaching and supporting team performance.
