Accountant

About the role Byrons is seeking an Intermediate Business Service professional to join our growing team in Sydney. This is a full-time position based in Sydney NSW 2000, offering a fantastic opportunity to develop your expertise within our dynamic business services and corporate advisory division. In this role, you will provide essential support to our clients and internal stakeholders, ensuring the delivery of high-quality business and accounting services. You will work collaboratively with senior professionals whilst gradually taking on increased responsibility for client management and project delivery.

What you’ll be doing 

1. Delivering quality business advisory and accounting services to our client base across various sectors
2. Providing analytical support and preparing reports for clients on financial performance and business operations
3. Assisting with the development and implementation of business improvement strategies
4. Managing client relationships and ensuring timely delivery of services and advice
5. Liaising with clients to understand their requirements and translating these into actionable solutions
6. Supporting the preparation of financial statements, management accounts and advisory documentation
7. Conducting research and analysis to support project work and client recommendations
8. Contributing to the continuous improvement of internal processes and service delivery standards
9. Assisting with training and mentoring of junior team members where appropriate

What we’re looking for 

1. Relevant accounting or business qualification, such as a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business
2. Professional accounting designation or progress towards one (CPA, CA, ACCA or equivalent) is highly desirable
3. Typically 3-5 years of experience in accounting, business services or corporate advisory roles
4. Strong proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office applications
5. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex financial information
6. Demonstrated ability to communicate clearly with clients and colleagues at all levels
7. Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
8. A professional and client-focused approach, with a commitment to delivering quality outcomes
9. Proactive attitude with a desire to develop your skills and take on greater responsibility
