Fish and Chip Shop Manager – Full-Time

Location: Sorrento Beach Club, Hillarys Boat Harbour, Hillarys WA 6025
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: From $75,000 per annum plus superannuation (negotiable based on skills, experience and qualifications)

ELG Australia is seeking an experienced and motivated Fish and Chip Shop Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our English-style fish and chip shop at Sorrento Beach Club.

This hands-on management role is responsible for delivering exceptional customer service while maintaining the highest standards of food quality, cleanliness, efficiency and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise the daily operation of the venue.

• Prepare and serve traditional fish and chips and other menu items to company standards.

• Operate and manage commercial fryers safely and efficiently.

• Prepare high-quality coffee and espresso beverages, demonstrating strong barista skills.

• Deliver friendly, efficient customer service and create a welcoming neighbourhood atmosphere.

• Operate the POS system accurately, process cash and EFTPOS transactions, and balance daily tills.

• Manage stock ordering, deliveries, stock rotation and inventory control.

• Maintain food safety, hygiene and HACCP standards, including temperature monitoring and cleaning schedules.

• Roster, train and develop team members while fostering a positive team culture.

• Monitor labour costs, food costs and daily operational performance.

• Open and close the venue, including end-of-day reconciliation and reporting.

• Ensure equipment is well maintained and report maintenance requirements promptly.

• Drive sales through outstanding customer service, presentation and operational excellence.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant will have:

• Previous experience in hospitality management.

• Strong barista skills.

• Experience using POS systems (desired).

• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.

• A passion for delivering an authentic, traditional fish and chip shop experience.

• A strong understanding of food safety and hygiene standards.

About the Role

This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary package based on experience, skills and qualifications.

The successful applicant may be required to work across ELG Australia's Perth venues, including Hillarys, Sorrento, Iluka, Applecross and Yanchep, as operational requirements dictate.
