Electrical Project Manager – Sydney NSW

We are a privately owned Australian contracting company delivering Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, Fire and Building Services projects across commercial, industrial and critical infrastructure sectors.

With offices in Sydney and Brisbane, we are seeking an Electrical Project Manager to join our Sydney team.

About the Role

Reporting to the NSW Construction Manager, you will be responsible for the successful delivery of electrical and multi-disciplinary projects from award through to completion. This role requires strong leadership, commercial acumen and the ability to safely deliver projects within live operational environments.

Unlike traditional commercial construction, we work directly with a long-standing portfolio of clients rather than principal building contractors. Our projects focus on upgrading and maintaining existing infrastructure across commercial, government and critical infrastructure facilities that remain fully operational throughout construction.

This creates a unique project environment where collaboration, planning and client engagement are just as important as technical delivery. You'll develop genuine long-term relationships with clients, work closely with experienced project teams and play a key role in delivering high-quality outcomes with minimal disruption to our clients' operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the delivery of projects to achieve programme, quality, commercial and safety objectives
• Coordinate subcontractors, suppliers and site teams across all project stages
• Develop and manage construction programmes, procurement activities and project reporting
• Maintain strong client relationships and communication throughout project delivery
• Ensure compliance with company QHSE systems, project procedures and contractual obligations
• Manage project financial performance including forecasting, variations and cost control
• Lead project planning, risk management and commissioning activities
• Ensure project documentation, reporting and records are maintained accurately and on time

About You

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

• Electrical trade background
• Proven experience delivering electrical construction projects within commercial, industrial or critical infrastructure environments
• Experience managing projects within operational facilities will be highly regarded
• Strong subcontractor management and coordination capability
• Sound understanding of WHS, QA and project compliance requirements
• Strong communication and leadership skills with the ability to manage client and stakeholder relationships professionally
• Ability to work autonomously while contributing positively to the broader project and management team
• Commercial awareness with a practical and solutions-focused approach to project delivery
