WesTrac is expanding its state-of-the-art Machine Shop with new CNC technology to support continued growth across our operations. With significant investment in new machinery and a strong pipeline of work, we have multiple opportunities available for qualified First Class Machinists.

Work in a modern, well-equipped workshop featuring both CNC and manual machining equipment, with access to ongoing training and development opportunities through the WesTrac Institute.

About the Role:

Due to continued growth and increasing demand, we are looking for Machinists to join our Machine Shop team in South Guildford. In this role, you'll be responsible for operating both manual and CNC machining equipment, including Horizontal Borers, Vertical Borers and CNC Mills, to produce quality components safely and efficiently.

Working within a well-equipped workshop, you will interpret engineering drawings, machine to required tolerances, complete inspections using precision measuring instruments, and contribute to meeting production and customer requirements. You'll also play a part in supporting the introduction of new CNC technology as our Machine Shop continues to expand.

What You'll Do

• Operate CNC and manual machining equipment
• Interpret engineering drawings and machine to tight tolerances
• Prioritise workload and meet customer expectations
• Apply safety processes such as JSAs and Take 5s
• Complete work within quoted timeframes

Roster

• 4 days on 4 days off 4 nights on 4 days off 12.5 hours inclusive of 30 minute unpaid meal break.

About You

• Australian-recognised First Class Machinist or Fitter Machinist Trade Certificate
• Skilled with measuring tools (callipers, dial indicators, bore micrometers, etc.)
• Experience operating vertical boring machines and horizontal boring machine.
• Confident interpreting drawings and holding tight tolerances
• Good time management and basic computer skills
• Desirable: Forklift, rigging or dogging licences
