Paralegal (Full Time)

Peter May McAuliffe Legal is a dynamic and busy boutique law firm with offices in Busselton and Margaret River. We are currently seeking an experienced, full-time Paralegal to join our team in our Margaret River office.

We are looking for a capable and well-organised professional with experience in conveyancing, probate, commercial law, and litigation. This is an onsite role working closely with our solicitors and administration team to provide high-quality legal and administrative support.

About the Role

Your duties will include, but are not limited to:

• Drafting, reviewing, and editing correspondence, court documents, and other legal documents;

• Lodging court documents, including electronic lodgements (eCourts);

• Preparing Lists of Documents, Subpoenas, and other court-related documents;

• Managing disclosure and discovery processes;

• Conducting legal research;

• Handling both paper-based and PEXA conveyancing transactions;

• Assisting with probate matters, including gathering and collating asset and liability information, preparing court applications, and administering estates;

• Liaising with clients;

• Undertaking general administrative duties, including photocopying, scanning, and file binding; and

• Managing files using our legal practice management software and maintaining both electronic and hard-copy records.

Skills and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

• Previous experience as a Paralegal or Law Clerk;

• Strong knowledge of legal processes and court procedures, including eCourts;

• The ability to effectively manage competing priorities and meet deadlines;

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills;

• The ability to work independently, demonstrate initiative, and take ownership of tasks;

• Experience using LEAP Legal Software (desirable);

• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite;

• A positive, team-oriented attitude with a high level of integrity and reliability; and

• Exceptional attention to detail and strong organisational skills.
