About Us
Supporting Your Independence is a values-driven NDIS provider committed to empowering people with disability to live life on their own terms. We pride ourselves on a supportive, inclusive workplace where our people are just as important as the participants we serve.
As we continue to grow, we are seeking an experienced Assistants in Nursing (AIN) to support our participants and deliver high-quality care in line with NDIS standards and best-practice guidelines.
About the Role
Reporting to the Regional SIL Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, person-centred care and support to participants in line with NDIS standards. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working closely with frontline disability support teams and contributing positively to participant outcomes.
This is a casual position with the opportunity for part-time, offering flexible shifts based on operational needs.
Key Responsibilities
• Provide high-quality, person-centred care to a participant living with paraplegia within a Supported Independent Living (SIL) setting
• Assist with activities of daily living, including personal care, showering, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation
• Support safe transfers and mobility using hoists, slide sheets, wheelchairs, and other mobility equipment
• Assist with bowel care routines and catheter care (as trained and delegated), ensuring dignity and privacy at all times
• Monitor and support skin integrity and pressure area care to prevent pressure injuries
• Follow individualised care plans and clinical instructions provided by the supervising Nurse
• Support medication administration in line with training and organisational policy
• Observe and promptly report changes in health status, skin condition, or general wellbeing to the supervising Nurse or Regional SIL Manager
• Maintain accurate daily progress notes, documentation, and incident reports
• Promote independence, choice, dignity, and community participation
• Follow infection control, manual handling, and WHS procedures to maintain a safe environment
• Respond appropriately to emergencies and escalate concerns in line with organisational protocols
About You
• AIN (qualified or enrolled), or equivalent (essential)
• Experience in disability, SIL, aged care, or community services (highly regarded)
• Sound understanding of person-centred practice and NDIS standards
• Confident supporting participants with complex needs (highly regarded, if applicable)
• Strong communication skills and a compassionate, respectful approach
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Reliable, organised, and able to manage competing priorities
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check, WWCC (if required), Police Check, First Aid & CPR
Why Join Us?
• Meaningful work supporting people with disability
• Supportive and values-driven culture
• Opportunity to make a real impact as the organisation grows
