Full-Time Career Opportunity – 38 hours per week
Attractive salary ranging from $1,478.95 to $1,700.40 per week.

The Opportunity
Step into a critical hands-on role keeping our operational fleet moving. As a Mechanic, you will diagnose mechanical problems in Council plant and efficiently carry out repairs to high industry standards. You will execute preventative maintenance programs for plant and vehicles to ensure maximum availability of the equipment for our community.
Your daily responsibilities will include inspecting plant for safety and roadworthiness, machining parts when required, and maintaining accurate records such as daily running sheets and fuel usage. You will also assist in maintaining the workshop and adjoining facilities in a clean, safe, and professional manner.

About You
You are a safety-conscious and adaptable team player with a strong ability to meet productivity targets under time pressures. You are highly self-motivated, bringing the skills to work effectively both within a team and autonomously.
To succeed in this role, you will bring
A Certificate III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology and a Trade Certificate in Automotive Mechanics for Heavy Vehicles.
Relevant experience in the correct servicing, routine maintenance, and repair of light and heavy plant.
Demonstrated experience diagnosing and rectifying problems causing abnormal tyre wear rates.
A current Class HR Drivers Licence and a General Construction Induction White Card.
A successful pre-employment medical which may include drug and alcohol testing.
