About the role

Metrocool is seeking an experienced a Mechanical Plumber and a Refrigeration Technician to join our dynamic team in Werribee, Victoria.

Mechanical Plumber with expertise in installation of Air-conditioning heating and cooling systems

Refrigeration Technician with expertise in refrigeration and air conditioning service, diagnosis, repair and maintenance.

You will play a vital role in delivering high-quality installation, repair and maintenance services to our valued clients across Melbourne's West and greater metropolitan areas. This role is central to maintaining our reputation for excellence and ensuring customer satisfaction in the air conditioning and refrigeration industry.

Key responsibilities:

Mechanical Plumber - Airconditioning

• installation of heating and cooling air conditioning ,VRF, split &/or ducted systems

• requires mechanical plumbing trade qualification (type B gas services license), construction white card, driver’s license, WWCC, BPC registration.

Refrigeration Mechanic / Technician

• commercial, light industrial and residential refrigeration and air conditioning service, diagnosis, repair and maintenance

• requires competent refrigeration & air conditioning diagnosis & repairs, refrigeration trade qualification / refrigerant handling license (ARC), white card, drivers’ license, electrical disconnect ‘D permit’ & WWCC

What we're looking for:

• Proven experience as a mechanical plumber and refrigeration technician, ideally with 4+ years in the field

• Strong knowledge of air conditioning and refrigeration systems, including domestic, commercial, and industrial applications

• Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and specifications

• Physical fitness and manual dexterity required for working in confined spaces and at heights

• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach

• Certificate II or IV in Mechanical Plumbing or Refrigeration or equivalent qualification
