Leading Hand (Recycling and Mobile Crushing)

• Permanent, full-time role
• Above-award hourly rate (Cement, Lime & Quarrying Award) + overtime after 7.6 hrs/day + weekend penalties, where applicable
• Consistent work across fixed and mobile operations
• Primarily based at Eaglehawk site (Bendigo, VIC), however, must have the capacity to work away from home when mobile crushing job arises

Our operations include fixed and mobile crushing, screening, and recycling, including a glass washing plant. About the Role

We are seeking a hands-on Leading Hand with strong quarrying, crushing or recycling industry experience to support the day-to-day operation of our recycling, mobile crushing and glass washing plant operations. This is a working leadership role, you will be on the tools while leading the crew, driving safety, and meeting production targets. While this role is suited to an experienced Leading Hand, we also welcome candidates with Plant Manager level experience who are open to a hands-on position.

Key Responsibilities

Your main responsibilities will include:

• Lead and maintain a strong safety-first culture, ensuring full compliance with WHSE systems, conducting pre-starts, toolbox talks and site inspections, and meeting environmental requirements.
• Supervise daily operations across crushing and screening, mobile crushing, and glass washing/recycling activities, allocating work and supporting Plant Manage responsibilities as required.
• Drive production to meet targets and specifications, coordinate maintenance to minimise downtime, and monitor plant performance.
• Ensure product quality meets specifications and complete accurate daily production reporting.
• Lead, mentor and develop the team, manage workforce matters, support recruitment activities, and maintain a clean, safe and organised workplace.

About You:

• Experience in quarrying, crushing, screening or recycling operations
• Strong, practical leadership, leads from front
• Experience operating mobile plant is desirable (competency required in loader, excavator, dozer, skid steer and dump truck)
• Exposure to plant supervision or management highly regarded
• Reliable, organised and able to work under pressure

Requirements

• Willingness to work away on mobile crushing projects as required
• Availability for weekends and public holidays if needed
• Current driver’s licence
• First Aid (or willingness to obtain)
