Maths and English Tutors | University Students Encouraged to Apply

Are you a university student or recent VCE graduate, with strong results in Maths or English and an interest in working with children?

NumberWorks'nWords Essendon, Moonee Ponds and Coburg are looking for enthusiastic tutors to join our teaching team.

We provide individualised tuition in Maths and English for primary and secondary school students, helping children build confidence, strengthen their skills and achieve improved academic outcomes. Our lessons take place in a positive, energetic centre environment, using structured NumberWorks'nWords programs tailored to each student's learning needs.

This role is suited to university students seeking meaningful casual work alongside their studies. You will be supported through training, lesson resources and guidance from our experienced management and senior teaching team.

As a tutor, you will:

• Teach Maths and/or English to Year 1-10 students in individualised learning sessions

• Encourage students to develop confidence, resilience and positive learning habits

• Provide clear explanations and positive feedback throughout each lesson

• Support students with school-based learning, foundational skills, extension and exam preparation, depending on their needs

• Contribute to a welcoming and professional centre environment

Who we are looking for:

• A passion for Maths and/or English, and strong VCE results in relevant Maths or English subjects

• Clear communication skills and a patient, encouraging manner

• A genuine interest in supporting children and teenagers

• Reliability and professionalism

• Current university enrolment is preferred, but not required.

• Australian work rights

Availability requirements:

• Available from 3:45pm on at least two weekdays per week

• Available to work at one or more of our Essendon (281 Buckley Street), Moonee Ponds (37 Hall Street) and Coburg (11 Munro Street) locations
