Design & Technical Services / Engineering Manager

Monadelphous is seeking an experienced Design & Technical Services / Engineering Manager to lead the engineering, design and technical services function for a major power generation facility. Operating on a 2:1 FIFO roster, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of the power plant through strong technical leadership, engineering governance and strategic asset management.

This position is responsible for overseeing design, engineering delivery, technical assurance, plant modifications, reliability improvement initiatives and compliance activities, while leading a multidisciplinary team of engineers and technical specialists. Key responsibilities of the role include:

* Lead and manage the Design & Technical Services and Engineering team, providing technical direction and engineering governance across the power plant.
* Ensure the safe, reliable and efficient performance of plant assets through effective engineering, maintenance and reliability strategies.
* Oversee engineering design reviews, plant modifications, technical investigations and asset improvement initiatives.
* Provide technical support to operations and maintenance teams, ensuring plant performance and availability targets are achieved.
* Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, industry standards, engineering specifications and company procedures.
* Manage engineering resources, budgets and priorities to support operational and project objectives.
* Develop and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulatory bodies, contractors and key stakeholders.
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, reliability, efficiency and asset performance.

What you’ll bring:

* Relevant qualification in Mechanical, Electrical, Process, Chemical or related Engineering discipline.
* Extensive experience in power generation, oil & gas, energy, utilities, heavy industrial or process plant environments.
* Proven leadership experience managing multidisciplinary engineering and technical services teams.
* Strong understanding of asset management, plant reliability, maintenance strategies and engineering risk management.
* Demonstrated experience overseeing engineering design, technical governance and plant modification projects.
* Sound knowledge of Australian engineering standards, safety regulations and statutory compliance requirements.
* Excellent stakeholder management, communication and leadership skills with the ability to influence at all levels.
* Strong commercial acumen with experience managing budgets, resources and operational performance outcomes.
