The Senior Applications Developer develops, verifies, tests, documents, amends and refactors complex programs, scripts and integration software and services.

The role contributes to the selection of the software development solutions for projects and applies agreed standards and tools to achieve a well-engineered outcomes that meet the Department's objectives and stakeholder needs.

There is one permanent position for immediate filling. This process may be used to fill future similar permanent or fixed-term positions that may arise within the Department and across the WA public sector in the next 12 months from the initial date of appointment. 

To be successful for this position, you need to demonstrate: 

• Demonstrated experience in application development, software engineering or a related field, including the use of programming languages, development frameworks and software development methodologies.
• Demonstrated experience in the administration, development and deployment of software and solutions across Microsoft Azure, Power Platform and SharePoint online using Microsoft DevOps.
• Demonstrated experience participating in project related activities, including providing technical input, contributing to solution delivery, and estimating detailed work effort in project plans.
• Demonstrated experience in analysing user requirements, evaluating and recommending technical solutions, and designing, developing, testing and implementing software applications, using a range of programming languages.
• Well-developed written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to interpret and translate complex technical information into clear, concise, and accessible language for a broad range of technical and non-technical stakeholder, including developing, maintaining and reviewing technical documentation, user guides and systems support materials, to facilitate effective system use.
• Demonstrate the behaviours within the leadership context as outlined below.

Core leadership behaviours outlined in Leadership Expectations are applicable to this role and should be demonstrated in the context of Personal Leadership. The Personal Leadership context is about the work of individuals not yet in traditional leadership positions who make a direct and immediate difference to the agency.

Special Requirements for this position:

The Department will conduct a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check for applicants successful to this recruitment process.
