About the role
The Assistant Head of Senior School – Learning, is a pivotal member of the Senior School Leadership Team with primary responsibility for teaching and learning excellence and academic success across Years 10 - 12. The role provides educational leadership in curriculum design, instructional practice, assessment, timetable design and the professional growth of Senior School teachers.
The Assistant Head of Senior School - Learning will possess a deep understanding of all QCAA, QCE, VET and ATAR requirements as well as a high-level knowledge of timetabling and student pathways within curriculum to support Senior School learners.
The successful appointee will maintain and develop the high academic standards at ASAS by leading and working proactively with those responsible for curriculum delivery in all subject areas of the Senior School and by championing evidence-informed pedagogy, driving coherent, high-quality learning experiences for all students while being an expert in all QCAA matters and arrangements.
About You
The successful applicant will bring a strong track record of educational leadership, deep curriculum knowledge and a passion for improving student outcomes through evidence-based practice.
You will bring:
Relevant tertiary teaching qualifications and current registration with the Queensland College of Teachers.
Demonstrated excellence as a classroom practitioner with strong curriculum and pedagogical knowledge.
Experience in instructional, curriculum or middle leadership within a Senior School context.
Demonstrated understanding of evidence-based teaching practices and experience embedding shared pedagogical approaches across a team or school.
Strong knowledge of all Senior School requirements including the QCAA, QCE, ATAR and VET pathways.
Excellent communication, relational and leadership skills.
A commitment to reflective practice, inclusion, student wellbeing and child safety.
Demonstrated experience contributing to school operations, including staffing, timetabling and event coordination.
A willingness to contribute to the broader life of the school.
