Conveniently located in the heart of Melbourne, Migitech is a small, family-owned business specialising in professional watch and glasses repairs.
We pride ourselves on providing high-quality workmanship, personal customer service, and attention to detail. We are looking for a reliable, responsible, and motivated person to join our team as a Watch & Glasses Receptionist.
This position will initially be part-time, with the potential to become full-time following a successful probation period.
We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is willing to learn new skills, and takes pride in doing their work accurately and professionally.
Position OverviewThe primary role will be working at our front desk and supporting the day-to-day operation of the business.
This is a fast-paced work environment where tasks, decisions, and priorities can change quickly. The successful applicant must be comfortable managing constant activity, shifting priorities, and multiple tasks at the same time, while maintaining accuracy and a high standard of customer service.
The role will often require working to tight deadlines, responding quickly to customer and workshop requirements, and using initiative to make decisions and keep work moving efficiently.
Main ResponsibilitiesAnswering telephone calls and greeting customers
Providing friendly, professional, and knowledgeable customer service
Entering customer and repair information into our system
Preparing invoices and processing payments
Managing customer emails and correspondence
Organising items for courier and postal dispatch
Receiving and organising incoming items
Contacting customers when repairs are completed and ready for collection
Maintaining an organised and professional reception area
Keeping the reception and kitchenette clean and tidy throughout the day
Assisting with general office and administrative duties
The successful applicant may also be trained in basic glasses adjustments and minor repairs, depending on their ability, interest, and willingness to learn.
This may include simple adjustments, screw and nose-pad replacement, frame adjustments, cleaning, and other basic workshop tasks.
There may also be opportunities to assist with other workshop duties involving watches and optical repairs.
Secondary ResponsibilitiesAs required, you may occasionally assist the workshop team with:
Preparing and assessing jobs for technicians
Cleaning and organising office space
General workshop assistance
Other duties that support the smooth operation of the business
Occasional additional hours may be available when required.
No weekends or public holidays are required.

Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
Previous customer service or administration experience is desirable
Experience working with repair businesses, retail, optical, jewellery, or technical products is an advantage
Experience in the watch or optical (glasses) industry will be highly regarded
An interest in watches, glasses, jewellery, or technical repair work will be considered a strong advantage
Friendly and supportive small-business environment
