The Clinical Nurse Educator will be a valued member of the Surgical Ward 1 Unit to undertake education, mentoring, clinical leadership, and workforce development. Working closely with the Nurse Unit Manager and multidisciplinary team. You will foster a culture of continuous learning, evidence-based practice, and excellence in patient care. We are actively seeking candidates who meet the following requirements to apply for this exceptional opportunity.

About the Role Key responsibilities include:

• Providing expert clinical support, education and mentorship to nursing staff.
• Supporting orientation, onboarding and transition programs for new, graduate and specialty nursing staff.
• Coordinating and monitoring staff clinical competencies and mandatory training requirements.
• Delivering education sessions, bedside teaching and practice development initiatives.
• Collaborating with the NUM and multidisciplinary team to identify learning needs and develop targeted education plans.
• Supporting quality improvement initiatives, patient safety programs and evidence-based practice.
• Assisting with competency assessments, performance development and professional growth opportunities for nursing staff.
• Promoting a positive learning environment aligned with AWH values and the Best Practice Clinical Learning Environment Framework.

About You To be successful, you will possess: Essential

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated advanced clinical experience within a surgical or acute inpatient setting.
• Experience in staff development, clinical teaching, mentoring and education delivery.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication and leadership skills.
• Strong commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement and patient-centred care.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Desirable

• Postgraduate qualification in Clinical Education, Adult Learning or related field.
• Certificate IV in Training and Assessment or willingness to work towards.
• Previous experience in a Clinical Nurse Educator, Clinical Support Nurse or senior clinical leadership role.

Employment Type: This is a Part time 0.2 FTE opportunity.
