Medical Receptionist

About the role

We are seeking a friendly, organised and professional Cardiology Receptionist to join our practice working 3-4 days per week. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with patients, supporting clinicians and keeping a busy practice running smoothly. You will be the first point of contact for patients and referring practices, providing a welcoming experience while managing appointments, enquiries, billing and general administration. There is potential for the role to transition into a full time role for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting patients warmly and providing exceptional customer service.

• Managing a busy multi line phone system and appointment enquires via email, phone and in person.

• Scheduling, confirming and coordinating cardiology appointments and investigations.

• Managing patient records accurately and maintaining confidentiality at all times.

• Processing Medicare, DVA, private billing and EFTPOS payments where required.

• Liaising with Specialists, clinical staff, referring doctors and external providers.

• Preparing and distributing correspondence and reports

• Banking, EFTPOS reconciliation and general admin duties

• Supporting smooth patient flow

• Maintaining a professional, tidy and welcoming reception and waiting area.

About you

• Experience in a specialist practice, cardiology practice or busy healthcare setting will be an advantage.

• Experience using medical practice software (Clinic to Cloud is highly regarded but not essential)

• Excellent communication skills and a professional telephone manner.

• Strong attention to detail, time management and organisational skills.

• Ability to multitask, prioritise and remain calm in a busy environment.

• Confident computer skills and familiarity with medical practice software.

• A reliable team player with a positive attitude and willingness to learn.
