About the role

United Cardiology is seeking an experienced Medical Receptionist to join our team to work at Chatswood Clinic on a full-time basis. This is a key front-facing position that serves as the first point of contact for our patients and plays a crucial role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. You will be the face of our practice, responsible for managing patient interactions, appointments, and administrative tasks whilst maintaining the highest standards of professionalism and care. This role is essential to our mission of providing exceptional cardiology services and patient experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting patients upon arrival and managing the reception desk in a professional and welcoming manner

• Scheduling and confirming patient appointments using practice management software

• Handling patient inquiries and redirecting them to the appropriate medical staff or departments

• Processing patient registrations and maintaining accurate patient records and documentation

• Managing telephone calls, taking messages and ensuring prompt communication with patients and healthcare providers

• Processing patient payments, managing invoices and handling billing inquiries with discretion

• Coordinating with medical staff to ensure efficient clinic operations and patient flow

• Maintaining confidentiality and complying with relevant health privacy legislation and practice protocols

• Performing general administrative duties including filing, data entry and document management

• Assisting with patient education materials and providing information about services offered

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare reception setting

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, doctors and colleagues

• Proficiency in practice management software and Microsoft Office applications

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

• Discretion and ability to handle sensitive patient information with confidentiality

• Customer service excellence with a focus on patient satisfaction and comfort

• Understanding of medical terminology and basic healthcare practices

• Flexibility and willingness to support the wider team during busy periods

• able to travel between clinics on occasion matter
