About the role

We are seeking a dedicated and organised Medical Receptionist to join our team at Spearwood Medical Centre on a Full-time/part-time/casual basis. This is a key position that serves as the first point of contact for our patients and plays a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our medical practice. Working from our clinic located in Spearwood, WA 6163, you will be responsible for managing patient interactions, administrative tasks, and supporting the delivery of excellent patient experiences. This role is essential to the functioning of our practice and directly contributes to maintaining our reputation for outstanding care.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting patients with a warm and professional manner and managing the reception area

• Scheduling and confirming patient appointments using our practice management system

• Processing patient registrations and maintaining accurate patient records

• Answering telephones and responding to patient enquiries in a timely and helpful manner

• Processing payments and managing billing transactions accurately

• Managing correspondence and administrative documentation

• Coordinating with medical staff to ensure efficient patient flow throughout the practice

• Maintaining confidentiality and complying with privacy regulations and health information standards

• Supporting the general administration of the medical centre as required

What we're looking for

• Experience working as a receptionist, ideally in a medical or healthcare setting

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a professional and courteous demeanour

• Proficiency with computer systems and practice management software (or willingness to learn)

• Ability to work efficiently in a busy environment while maintaining accuracy

• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements in healthcare settings

• A genuine commitment to providing excellent customer service to patients

• Reliability and the ability to work independently and as part of a team

• Current knowledge of medical terminology is advantageous
