Trailer Builder / Assembler

Lucar Cargo Van is a long-established manufacturer of high-quality refrigerated and dry freight semi-trailers and truck bodies.

We’re looking for a practical, trade-minded person to join our small production team.

Our trailers are built from the ground up and our team works across different stages of each build, so there is plenty of variety from week to week.

Depending on your skills and experience, the work may include:

• Trailer body assembly

• Fibreglass work and panel finishing

• Fitting insulated and refrigerated panels

• Timber and metal work

• Drilling, cutting, grinding and general fabrication

• Fitting doors, floors, tracks, hardware and other components

• Using hand and power tools

• General factory and manufacturing work

• Assisting with welding and metal fabrication where experienced

• Final fit-out and finishing of completed trailers

Lucar is well known in the transport industry for the quality of its builds, so we’re looking for people who take pride in their work and have a good eye for detail.

What we’re looking for

• Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship

• Practical, mechanically or trade minded

• Confident using hand and power tools

• Reliable and able to work as part of a small team

• Able to work independently once shown a task

• Comfortable with hands-on and physical work

• Willing to learn different parts of the trailer building process

Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:

Caravan manufacturing, trailer building, truck body building, fibreglass, welding, metal fabrication, sheet metal, timber work, cabinet making, vehicle fit-out, assembly, fabrication or general manufacturing.

You don’t need to have built semi-trailers before. If you have good practical skills, take pride in producing quality work and are keen to learn, we’d be interested in hearing from you.

Overtime is available from time to time depending on production requirements.
