Project Engineers - Civil

Austral Construction is an established Engineering Contractor providing services to the Mining and Infrastructure sectors. We are currently seeking experienced Project Engineers from a civil background to join our Project Team to assist on a pipeline of projects in the Pilbara region of Western Australia. Working a 2/1 Roster to the Pilbara you will play a key role in the success of our projects by working closely with the Project Managers, Site Supervisors and other construction personnel while demonstrating and utilising your project administration skills.

Main duties will include (but are not limited to):

• Liaise with clients on tender queries, and design, construction and contract issues,

• Brief subcontractors on construction plans and delegate responsibilities,

• Review tender documents and preliminary designs for alternative solutions,

• Prepare cash flow budgets and reconciliations,

• Provide technical advice and solutions ensuring quality control & assurance is maintained for the delivery of works in your area,

• Proactively provide input and support in the maintenance of a safe workplace,

• Manage information and conduct appropriate monitoring and reporting duties.

Position requirements: 

• Preferably a minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar site-based role with experience in delivery of earthworks projects,

• Tertiary Qualifications in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a similar field,

• Ability to read and understand drawings and specifications,

• Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills, and a genuine concern for health, safety and the environment,

• Developed analytical and problem-solving skills while adhering to deadlines,

• Team player mindset with the ability to develop strong internal and external relationships,

• Competent in the use of planning software such as MS Project, P6 and Pronto.
