Our Role
Kingswood College is seeking an experienced and compassionate Counsellor to join our student wellbeing team and provide responsive counselling support to students from Kindergarten to Year 12 on an as needs basis.
This role is designed to complement the work of our permanent Counselling and Wellbeing Team, providing additional professional counselling capacity when required. Within this capacity you will focus on responsive, short-term support rather than carrying an ongoing therapeutic caseload.
This position is particularly suited to an early career counsellor seeking to develop experience within a supportive school community or an experienced practitioner looking for a flexible counselling role.
Key Responsibilities
Reporting to the Deputy Principal, you will work collaboratively with the College’s Counselling team and other staff involved in supporting student wellbeing.

About You
You are a qualified counselling or mental health professional who is confident working with children and young people, and able to quickly establish trust and rapport. You have strong understanding of the responsibilities that come with supporting students in a school environment and can balance compassionate, student-centred practice with sound professional judgement and effective communication.
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
Previous experience supporting children or young people and relevant postgraduate qualifications will be highly regarded.
