Originally named The Wayside Foundation, The Ted Noffs Foundation was established in 1970 by the Australian humanitarian, Reverend Ted Noffs, who’s work championed social justice, mental health support, and innovative youth services. Today, the Foundation continues his legacy, delivering frontline services and community support across NSW, ACT & QLD. With over 200 staff and 350 volunteers, we remain deeply committed to helping young people affected by issues related to drugs, crime, and mental health.
The Role:
Noffs is seeking an HR Advisor to join our dynamic team, supporting our work with marginalised young people while playing a key role across the employee lifecycle and contributing to a positive workplace culture. This is a varied position encompassing a broad range of HR operations and administrative responsibilities. The role is based at Noffs Headquarters in Randwick and works closely with members of the administration and management teams.
Responsibilities and Duties include but not limited to:
Coordinate and drive end-to-end recruitment process with Unit Managers through the recruitment management system.
Manage employee on-boarding, including preparation of contracts, verifying clearance, and facilitating employee inductions.
Facilitating employee off-boarding, including conducting exit interviews, updating systems and working closely with the payroll team.
General oversight of volunteers, contractors, and placement students on-boarding and off-boarding, including ensuring compliance with child safety, police checks, and any service agreements.
Be the initial point of contact for staff members and managers for HR enquiries and/or escalate as required.
Help to resolve workplace conflict and liaise between the parties.
Assist Unit Managers in providing constructive and timely performance evaluations to staff members.
Handle disciplinary procedure and termination of staff members in accordance with company policies, including writing and managing Performance Improvement Plans.
Manage workers compensation claims, ensuring timely and accurate processing of all related documentation.
Sound interpretation of relevant legislation, policy, agreements & awards and escalating as required.
Ensure legal compliance throughout human resource management, in areas including but not limited to HR policies and procedures, WHS, wages, immigration laws.
Prepare accurate and concise reports, documents and correspondence as required.
Coordinate and track staff learning & development as required, including mandatory training and induction processes.
Essential Selection Criteria:
Tertiary qualified with a focus on Human Resources or similar qualification.
Previous experience with a Human Resource Management Systems, preferably Employment Hero.
Sound knowledge of the SCHADS Award and other employment regulations.
Proficient with Microsoft Office packages and Mac iOS operations.
Strong administrative skills, experience working in an administrative role.
Demonstrated ability to manage competing demands.
Strong attention to detail.
Strong organisational skills and focus on keeping accurate records and information across multiple systems.
Strong verbal and oral communication skills.
Ability to build positive interpersonal relationships and liaise with various individuals across the organisation.
Must hold and maintain a cleared NSW Working With Children Check.
