Chef de Partie – Wild Canary (Brisbane)

About the role

As a Chef de Partie, you'll take ownership of your section and play an important role in delivering a consistently high-quality food experience across our bistro and events. You'll enjoy the variety of a busy daytime bistro alongside the creativity and occasion of premium weddings and events — without the late-night restaurant lifestyle.

Key responsibilities

• Running your section confidently and independently during service
• Preparing and cooking high-quality food to our standards
• Working with seasonal and local produce and contributing to menu development
• Supporting the Head Chef and wider kitchen team with daily operations
• Working across bistro service, weddings and premium events
• Maintaining excellent standards of presentation, consistency and timing
• Ensuring your section is clean, organised and service-ready
• Supporting and mentoring more junior members of the kitchen team where appropriate

About you

• Previous experience as a Chef de Partie in a quality, high-volume kitchen
• The confidence to manage your own section during busy service
• Strong food preparation and cooking skills
• Excellent attention to detail and consistency
• A calm, positive approach under pressure
• Good communication and a genuine team mentality
• High standards of cleanliness, food safety and organisation
• A passion for quality produce and well-executed food
• Flexibility to work weekends and occasional events
• Pastry experience is highly desirable
