BABY SENSORY & TODDLER SENSE CANBERRA IS HIRING!

Do you want to be a part of the magic of Baby Sensory and Toddler Sense? 

We are looking for someone to take on the role of a Baby Sensory class leader. Full training is provided. No formal qualifications are necessary, however reliability, thinking on your feet and organisation are absolutely key to this role, and we welcome applications with those qualities. Read on if you are a confident, approachable person with the ability to lead a group of adults and their babies/toddlers. 

Position will begin as an assistant for at least two terms, until the participant is ready to lead classes on their own. Baby Sensory Canberra runs in Weston, Gungahlin and Jerrabomberra (NSW) areas. Training in class (paid) will commence as soon as possible and formal training will be held later in the year which is compulsory. Please note that this role will initially begin as a class assistant (paid at $32), whilst you are supported with your training and are then able to confidently run classes on your own. 

Our Baby Sensory classes run Tuesday through to Friday and initally we are looking for someone to work two days per week. The hours are 8am - 3pm plus one extra hour at home learning. We run classes 40 weeks a year and run in line with the school terms. As we are mobile business and run out of multiple locations, there is also a work van that will need to be collected, please note you are also paid an extra hour for the collection and return of the van. There is definitely room to progress in your role and responsibilities at Baby Sensory Canberra.

Our Toddler Sense classes run Wednesday and Thursday, in Duffy ACT. Wednesday is 7am to 1:15pm and Thursday is 8:30am to 3pm.

Our job here at Baby Sensory is never dull. Every day we get to watch babies (0-13 months) develop and grow, whilst we get the opportunity to help parents gain new skills that make them stronger and more relaxed, by being a welcoming, fun and informative environment. All Baby Sensory activities are based on research and theory and are designed specifically to develop connections within baby’s brain that help support language, social, emotional, sensory, physical and intellectual learning.

Likewise, Toddler Sense is full of busy toddlers who are accompanied by their grown up. They are energetic, fun and curious. All activities are specifically designed to suit toddlers.

A Day in the Life of a Baby Sensory Facilitator

Your role would include setting up the room with the equipment needed for the day and preparing for the families to arrive. It will be anything from 15-20 parents and their babies attending each class. All babies are aged from birth - 13 months. You would chat to parents, make them feel really welcome and introduce the class. With strict time management you will then lead the class giving baby development information, singing along to music, delivering the sensory activities and creating a fun informative atmosphere. Content and music is provided before the class so you will know exactly what to deliver and what equipment to use. You will run 4 classes per day. When finished you would clean the equipment and pack away. 

A Day in the Life of a Toddler Sense Facilitator

Each morning begins with a room reset, if it is the first day our classes run, we unpack everything in our storeroom and then set it out. Set up takes 1 hour and 30 minutes. You will then welcome the toddlers in and engage with them and their grown up during the first 30 minutes of their adventure free time play. We then tidy up and lead the toddlers through 7 set activities according to the theme that week. We run 3 one hour classes per day. In between we clean and reset. Depending on the day, we then do a full pack down.

You will need WWCC and First Aid which can be provided.
