Freelance Photographer - Perth

About the role

You'll photograph a diverse range of clients, creating fashion-inspired portraits and portfolio imagery that balance strong creative direction with each person's individuality. Working alongside producers, stylists, and hair and makeup artists, you'll help guide clients through their shoot, build their confidence and create a varied gallery of compelling images. This opportunity would suit an experienced photographer looking to add occasional, ongoing freelance work to their existing creative practice.

Key responsibilities

• Create high-quality fashion, portrait and modelling portfolio imagery

• Interpret client briefs while bringing your own creativity and perspective to each shoot

• Direct and pose clients of different ages, backgrounds and experience levels with confidence and sensitivity

• Collaborate with producers, stylists, and hair and makeup artists to deliver a cohesive creative experience

• Use studio lighting, composition and framing to create variety across each client's gallery

• Work efficiently within scheduled shoot times while maintaining strong creative and technical standards

• Communicate professionally and contribute to a positive, welcoming experience for every client

About you

• Professional experience in fashion, portrait, editorial or studio photography

• Strong studio-lighting and camera-operation skills

• Confidence directing and posing people with varying levels of experience in front of the camera

• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to help clients feel comfortable, supported and confident

• A collaborative, adaptable and professional approach

• A strong creative eye and an interest in contemporary photography and fashion trends

• The ability to create variety while maintaining consistency and technical precision

• An active ABN and the ability to work as an independent contractor

• Availability for approximately 1–2 pre-arranged shoot days per month. Some availability between Wednesday and Sunday is preferred

• High skills in shooting in a fast paced environment and delivering culled/colour graded images in a fast turnaround time
