Our Centre is located at Kensington on the historical site established by Mary MacKillop in 1872. Here she lived, worked and prayed with her pioneering companions during eleven early years of the fledgling Sisters of Saint Joseph congregation.

About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and customer-focused Hospitality and Facilities Assistant to join our team on a casual basis at the Mary MacKillop Precinct.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong front-of-house hospitality background who enjoys delivering exceptional guest experiences in a unique environment that blends conference and event services with a museum and heritage setting.
You’ll support operations across our conference facilities and museum spaces, ensuring a welcoming, professional and seamless visitor experience.
Key Responsibilities
Deliver high-quality front-of-house service, welcoming guests, program participants and visitors
Assist with event and function delivery, including room setup, catering coordination and pack-down
Provide food and beverage service, including preparation, presentation and kitchen support
Maintain high standards of cleanliness, presentation and food safety compliance
Support conference and meeting operations, including basic AV/technology setup
Manage and process booking enquiries and reservations
Use and maintain booking systems (including RMS or similar platforms such as Opera)
Liaise with guests and event organisers to ensure smooth bookings and service delivery
Assist with stock control, ordering and general facilities upkeep
About You
We’re looking for candidates who bring energy, professionalism and excellent organisational skills. You will ideally demonstrate:
Strong food & beverage experience, including service and basic food preparation
Experience using booking/property management systems (RMS, Opera or equivalent)
Proven experience in front-of-house hospitality roles (hotel, venue, events or similar)
Excellent communication and customer service skills
A hands-on approach with the ability to multitask in a dynamic environment
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Confidence working both independently and as part of a team
Desirable:
Food Safety / Food Handling Certificate (or willingness to obtain)
Experience in conference, events or cultural/museum environments
Basic administration and Microsoft Office skills
