About the Role

As a Tax Accountant, you will work across both Bottrell Business Consultants Pty Ltd and Bottrell Wealth Pty Ltd, supporting our Accounting and Financial Planning teams.

This is a varied role offering exposure to business accounting, taxation, Self Managed Super Funds, investment entities and financial planning support.

You will prepare financial statements and taxation returns while assisting our Financial Planners with cash flow forecasting, budgeting, financial modelling and finance application documentation.

Roles and Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

• Preparing Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for Companies, Trusts, Partnerships and Individuals.

• Preparing Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for Self Managed Super Funds (SMSFs).

• Preparing Financial Statements and Tax Returns for investment entities and investment portfolios.

• Preparing Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns for small business clients.

• Preparing Business Activity Statements (BAS), IAS and Fringe Benefits Tax (FBT) returns.

• Assisting with taxation planning and business advisory engagements.

• Preparing cash flow forecasts, budgets and financial modelling.

• Supporting Financial Planners with financial modelling and strategy projections.

• Preparing financial information and supporting documentation for Mortgage Brokers and finance applications.

• Working closely with the Financial Planning team on SMSF and investment related matters.

• Liaising with clients, financial institutions, the Australian Taxation Office and external advisers.

• Maintaining strong client relationships and delivering exceptional client service.

• Supporting both Bottrell Business Consultants Pty Ltd and Bottrell Wealth Pty Ltd across a broad range of accounting, taxation and financial planning engagements.

Qualifications and Experience

We are seeking an experienced professional who demonstrates:

• Minimum 3 years' Public Practice Accounting experience.

• Experience preparing Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns.

• Experience preparing SMSF Financial Statements and Income Tax Returns.

• Experience preparing Financial Statements and Tax Returns for small business clients.

• Strong Australian taxation knowledge.

• Experience with Xero, MYOB and cloud accounting software.

• Strong analytical, communication and organisational skills.

• High attention to detail.

• Commitment to delivering exceptional client service.

• APS, Class Super or BGL

Qualifications

Applicants should ideally have:

• Degree in Accounting, Commerce or Business.

• CA or CPA qualified, or currently completing.

• Strong knowledge of Australian taxation legislation.

• Registered Tax Agent, or eligibility to become a Registered Tax Agent, would be highly regarded but is not essential.

• Commitment to ongoing professional development.
