About the role:
ETS is currently seeking Digital Metering Technicians to support our Unitywater contract in Southeast Queensland. While experience in a similar role or within the water infrastructure sector is desirable, it is not essential. Applicants with backgrounds as Plumbing Trade Assistants or Cable Technicians will be highly regarded.
Responsibilities:
(Full training will be provided to the successful candidates)
Install, commission and configure digital water meters and data loggers for residential, commercial and industrial properties (AMI/AMR/IoT)
Investigate and troubleshoot device, issues, liaising with remote vendors as needed
Ensure all work complies with ETS HSEQ policies and relevant legislation
Deliver high-quality customer service to clients and customers
Collaborate with team members to share technical/safety information and support continuous improvement
Assist with meter reading and water meter replacements alongside plumbers as required.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Positive, team-orientated attitude with a strong willingness to learn
Experience in water/wastewater networks (desirable)
Computer literate, including device configuration and Microsoft (Excel)
Strong communication skills and ability to work autonomously
A current Australian driver’s licence
Working outdoors experience with varied manual handling tasks required including hand digging and backfilling in different soil conditions.
The following skills highly regarded but not essential:
Knowledge of, or experience with, water meters and/or data loggers
Familiarity with AMR / AMI / IoT networks and technologies (e.g. NB-IoT, WIZE)
Experience with meter field collection or data management software
Experience using handheld devices
