Production Training Assistant

We’re looking for a hands-on Production Training Assistant to help train the next generation of Prima PMI employees and continue to grow the skills of our existing production team. This role is perfect for someone familiar with machine operation as an individual contributor, who is looking to take an entry level step into leadership.

Working closely with Team Leaders within the factory and working as a part of the HSEC team, you’ll play a key role in delivering consistent, structured production training program that supports, productivity, safety and quality.

The Role 

This is a hands-on role where you’ll support Team Leaders and help coordinate daily production training. 

You’ll play a key role in ensuring production teams are successful in maintaining strong quality standards and supporting the development of the production team. 
This role is perfect for those who have been leaders at school/uni, coached a local sporting team or are a natural born leader. If you find that you are able to influence and inspire - this role could be the one for you!

Key responsibilities will eventually include: 

• Deliver training for new production employees

• Conduct machine and process training

• Facilitate cross-training and refresher training across production

• Review SOPs regularly with production leaders to ensure they reflect best practice and align with safety requirements

• Support the production certification program

• Support production leaders in coaching operators

• Assist with onboarding area inductions during peak recruitment periods

• Assist HSEC to provide targeted training following quality or safety incidents

• Identify opportunities to simplify processes and improve training materials

• Support implementation of new equipment or processes

About You:

You’re someone who enjoys being on the floor, amongst the team and their machines. You thrive in a coaching environment where you are enthusiastic and passionate about helping others become their best. You may just be beginning your training journey, but you are eager to grow and develop your skillset.

You’ll bring: 

• Experience working in manufacturing or print production environments 

• Experience working with production machinery or process lines 

• Strong OHS awareness 

• Ability to use online systems (LMS) 

• Can analyse and interpret data

• Strong literacy and numeracy skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills 

• The ability to stay calm under pressure in a fast-paced environment 

• Critical thinking and practical problem solving 

• Emotional intelligence when working with teams
