About the role

We are seeking a committed Chef/Cook to join our kitchen team at Riverview on Camden 5 days per week 7.00am to 3.00pm No Evenings As Chef/Cook. Breakfast and Lunch service only. Creativity really welcome and an interest in baking there is a fully equipped bakery on site .

you will play a vital role in delivering quality meals and maintaining the culinary standards that define our establishment. You will work collaboratively with our kitchen team to prepare, cook, and present dishes whilst ensuring food safety and hygiene standards are consistently met.

What you'll be doing

• Preparing and cooking meals according to established recipes and plating standards, ensuring consistency and quality across all dishes

• Managing food preparation areas and maintaining cleanliness, organisation and adherence to health and safety regulations

• Collaborating with other kitchen staff to ensure efficient workflow and timely service during busy periods

• Monitoring food quality and implementing corrective actions to maintain high standards

• Assisting with menu development and suggesting new dishes or improvements based on seasonal availability and culinary trends

• Receiving and inspecting deliveries of food and supplies, ensuring quality and proper storage procedures

• Practising portion control and minimising food waste whilst maximising profitability

• Adhering to all food safety standards, allergen protocols and kitchen safety procedures

• Supporting training and mentoring of junior kitchen staff as required

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a Chef or Cook in a professional kitchen environment

• Interest in baking or interest in learning new skills in baking

• Strong knowledge of food safety, hygiene standards and kitchen best practices

• Proficiency in food preparation techniques, cooking methods and plating presentation

• Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain quality during peak service times and summer holiday periods

• Excellent organisational and time management skills with attention to detail

• Strong communication and teamwork abilities to collaborate effectively with kitchen and front-of-house staff

• Physical fitness and ability to stand for extended periods, lift heavy items and work in a warm kitchen environment

• Relevant culinary qualifications or certifications if available

• Flexibility with shift patterns, including potential weekend

• A passion for teamwork and showing up for work
