Job Description
The Temple Department is seeking to appoint a Clerical Leader based in the Sydney Temple office. We are seeking an organized, proactive, patron-focused leader who feels that they are willing and able to serve in a temple environment. This permanent full-time role offers the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution to all who come to the House of the Lord.
The successful applicant will report to the Temple Recorder and play a key role in supporting patrons, and the Temple Presidency coordinating administrative functions, maintaining accurate records, and ensuring the smooth day-to-day operation of the temple office.
Responsibilities
As the Clerical Leader, your responsibilities will include:
Assist patrons preparing to receive sacred ordinances. Support patrons and priesthood leaders by helping resolve complex enquiries in a courteous, confidential manner. Assist patrons with temple housing bookings and payments. Manage and ensure timely payments to approved vendors. Maintain and regularly update temple worker databases, ensuring information is accurate. Monitor inventories to ensure adequate office and operation supplies.
Qualifications
The ideal applicant will demonstrate:
An attitude of serving with kindness and reverence. Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills. And have a minimum of two years of office management experience along with two years of temple computer systems, Family History, or related fields, or equivalent education experience. Supervisory skills with the ability to motivate and support staff to maintain high standards of accuracy and embrace new processes. Attention to detail when processing bookings, payments, and confidential records. Sound judgement and problem-solving ability when handling enquiries and resolving issues. Integrity, discretion, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. The ability to prioritize competing tasks and remain calm in a sometimes-busy temple office.
