Disability Support Worker

About the role

Provide support to patients with physical and/or intellectual disabilities in a group home setting in Blakeview, Adelaide.

Key responsibilities

• Provide support to patients with physical and/or intellectual disabilities
• Assist client with activities and personal care during their daily home living
• Understand and provide appropriate care to patients with low needs to patients with high needs who demonstrate a range of challenging behaviours
• Assist with activities relating to daily living, community support, and empowerment
• Work under general guidance from the person seeking support and their family, within clearly defined guidelines
• Deliver a service that meets the needs of a highly disadvantaged group while operating in line with legislation, regulation, and best practice guidelines
• Represent the Ultimate Disability Services brand with enthusiasm and pride
• Communicate with relevant internal and external stakeholders in an efficient manner

About you

• Must have experience working with mental and physical disability clients
• A can-do attitude, enthusiasm, and great communication skills
• Strong, proven interpersonal skills and empathy
• Excellent prioritisation and organisational skills
