About this Position:

We are seeking Expressions of Interest for two exciting opportunities for enthusiastic and customer‑focused Library Assistant's (2085 & 2081))  to join our Byron Area team on a part‑time temporary basis.

Position 1 (2085)  26 hours per week  up until 25 October 2026.

Position 2 (2081)  14 hours per week  up until 25 October 2026.

However,  the employment period may be extended or concluded earlier in accordance with business and operational requirements.

This position is primarily based at Byron Area Libraries. It is a requirement of the role to work Thursday evenings and weekend shifts as required. 

As a Library Assistant with Richmond Tweed Regional Library, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality services to library patrons. Working within a multi‑skilled team, you will support a range of library operations, including maintaining and providing access to library collections, facilitating children’s programs, assisting customers, and using automated information systems and databases.

What you will need to be successful:

• Higher School Certificate or equivalent.
• Australian Citizenship or appropriate VISA to work in Australia. 
• Current Class C Drivers License. 
• NSW Working with Children Check.
• Good interpersonal, teamwork and communication skills.
• Good numeracy, literacy, accuracy and attention to detail.

Part Time Term Contracts : contracted hours of work  26 hours a week  OR 14 hours a week 

Salary: A salary range from $33.07 to $38.03  (Grade 5  Entry up to Step 4 ) per hour + superannuation
