Dental Receptionist/Assistant

About the role

Golden Beach Dental Services Pty Ltd is seeking a dedicated Dental Receptionist/Assistant to join our team on a full-time basis. Based in Caloundra, QLD, this role is fundamental to delivering exceptional patient care and maintaining the smooth operation of our dental practice. As a Dental Receptionist/Assistant, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a vital role in creating a welcoming environment whilst supporting our clinical and administrative operations. This position requires someone who is organised, professional, and committed to providing outstanding patient service in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting patients upon arrival, making them feel welcome and comfortable in the dental practice

• Managing patient appointments and scheduling using practice management software

• Handling patient check-in and check-out procedures, including processing payments and handling billing queries

• Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records and dental charts

• Sterilising and preparing dental instruments and operatory areas for clinical procedures

• Providing chairside assistance during dental treatments and procedures

• Answering patient telephone enquiries professionally and redirecting appropriately

• Managing patient correspondence and sending appointment reminders

• Ensuring compliance with infection control protocols and health and safety standards

• Supporting the dentist and dental hygienist with administrative and clinical tasks as required

• Maintaining the cleanliness and organisation of reception and clinical areas

What we're looking for

• A qualification or certification as a Dental Assistant or Dental Receptionist, or equivalent experience in a dental or healthcare setting

• Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to multitask in a busy environment

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a genuine passion for patient care

• Proficiency in using practice management software and general computer skills

• A thorough understanding of infection control procedures and dental health and safety regulations

• Attention to detail and accuracy when managing patient records and scheduling

• A professional and friendly demeanour, with the ability to remain calm under pressure

• Current knowledge of Australian Dental Board standards and Best Practice guidelines

• A valid First Aid Certificate or willingness to obtain one

• Previous experience working in a dental practice is highly desirable

• Reliability and a commitment to punctuality and professional conduct
