This position involves performing welding and fabrication tasks across multiple construction sites, ensuring all work meets engineering specifications, safety regulations and project requirements.

Work sites may vary depending on project requirements. The position may involve travel between different construction locations as directed by the employer.

Tasks and Responsibilities

The role will include a wide range of welding and fabrication tasks, including but not limited to:

• Carrying out welding tasks, including MIG, TIG and stick welding, as required

• Fabricating, assembling and repairing metal structures and components

• Reading and interpreting technical drawings, blueprints and welding symbols

• Cutting, shaping and joining metal parts using hand tools and welding equipment

• Inspecting welds to ensure strength, quality and compliance with relevant standards

• Preparing materials and surfaces for welding and fabrication work

• Operating welding machinery and related construction equipment safely

• Performing maintenance and basic repairs on tools and equipment

• Ensuring all work is completed in line with project specifications and deadlines

• Following workplace health and safety procedures at all times

Qualifications and Experience

• At least one year of experience as a welder or in a related fabrication role

• Relevant welding qualification or Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade is advantageous but not required

• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and plans

• Experience with various welding techniques and metal types

• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship

• Physically fit and able to work in construction-site conditions

• Reliable, safety-focused and able to work independently or as part of a team
