SPD Education Director

The Seventh-day Adventist Church (SPD) Limited is seeking a highly experienced and qualified Church education director to oversee the South Pacific Division (SPD) Education department and its functions. This full-time role will provide vision, effective management, and leadership across the educational system in the South Pacific. 

The South Pacific Division of the Seventh-day Adventist Church is the administrative head office for the church in Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, and most of the South Pacific Island nations. The focus of this office as a Christian organisation is to be a catalyst for a disciple-making movement that enables people to follow Jesus Christ and serve the community. 

Adventist Education is an integral part of the worldwide ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. It is responsible for the coordination, promotion, training and quality of the Adventist education program which includes schools, colleges and universities across 4 regional territories in the South Pacific, including Australia, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea and Trans-Pacific.

Selection Criteria:

1. Must be a practising baptised member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church with a strong commitment to the Church and its mission. 

2. Eligible to hold a church teacher credential.

3. Must have relevant academic qualifications with a doctoral degree preferably in education.

4. At least 5 years experience in education leadership, management and administration. 

5. Experience in leading and developing educational institutions, systems, programs and initiatives across the South Pacific. 

6. Exceptional interpersonal ability with excellent written and verbal communication skills. 

7. Knowledge and understanding to provide effective professional management and development of the educational system.

8. Ability to effectively communicate with and advise Church leadership on structure, education policy and other relevant matters.
