About the role
Adventist Care is a faith-based, not-for-profit organisation delivering high-quality, person-centred aged care across Western Australia. Guided by Christian values, we support older people and their families with integrity, excellence and kindness — and we take just as much care of the people who work with us.
We're looking for an organised, personable Accounts Officer to join our Finance team at Head Office in Rossmoyne. Reporting to the Accountant, you'll play a key role in keeping our financial operations accurate, compliant and running smoothly — while being a friendly first point of contact for residents, families, suppliers and colleagues.
This is a full-time position, 38 hours per week (Monday–Thursday 8:30am–5:00pm, Friday 8:30am–3:00pm).
Process accounts payable, including supplier invoices, coding, authorisation and payment runs
Manage accounts receivable, including resident and customer billing and following up overdue accounts with professionalism and empathy
Assist with monthly general ledger and bank reconciliations
Support the Financial Controller and Accountant with month-end, year-end and ad hoc reporting
Provide a warm, professional point of contact for finance enquiries, and reception relief as required
Handle sensitive financial and personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 and organisational policy
Contribute ideas and support for continuous improvement across finance processes
Essential
A friendly, welcoming approach and strong customer service orientation
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Exceptional organisational skills and attention to detail
Good self-initiative and time management
Intermediate MS Office skills and general tech savviness
Ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a busy environment
A professional approach to confidential and sensitive information
Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain one)
Willingness to work within the Christian ethos of the Seventh-day Adventist Church
Desirable
Certificate III/IV in Accounting, Bookkeeping or a related field
Experience using accounting or finance software (e.g. MYOB, TechnologyOne + CRM or similar)
Previous experience in aged care, health or the not-for-profit sector
At Adventist Care, you'll be part of a values-driven team where compassion, integrity, respect, excellence and service guide everything we do. We offer a supportive workplace where staff are valued and encouraged to grow, all while contributing to meaningful work that makes a real difference in the lives of older Western Australians and their families.
If you're a detail-oriented finance professional who thrives on accuracy and enjoys connecting with people, we'd love to hear from you. Click Apply Now to submit your resume and a cover letter outlining your suitability for the role.
