At Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone, and we are looking for an experienced and strategic Outpatient Services Lead to drive the development and improvement of outpatient services across the District.

About the Opportunity

As the Outpatient Services Lead, you will provide strategic leadership in the planning, development, and delivery of effective and efficient outpatient services across CCLHD. Working closely with senior leaders, clinical departments, community services, and key stakeholders, you will play a critical role in strengthening models of care and improving health outcomes and experiences for the Central Coast community.

This position will lead service planning, reform, and improvement initiatives that support integrated care across outpatient, community, primary care, and tertiary services. In this role you will:

• Lead the development and implementation of innovative outpatient models of care, including initiatives such as Virtual Care and Rapid Access Clinics.
• Work collaboratively with clinical departments, specialty services, clinic leads, and senior managers to improve access, quality, safety, patient experience, and outcomes.
• Develop and implement service planning and improvement initiatives aligned with CCLHD strategic priorities and NSW Health strategies.
• Establish standardised approaches to outpatient clinic design, referral management, screening, booking, waitlist management, reporting, workforce planning, and quality monitoring.
• Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including government and non-government agencies, community representatives, and primary care partners.
• Provide expert advice and recommendations to senior executives to inform strategic and operational decision-making across outpatient services.
• Support clinical governance, continuous improvement, and strategies that promote best practice in the delivery of safe, high-quality care.
• Lead and facilitate change across a complex health service environment while balancing community needs, service priorities, workforce requirements, and financial accountability.

About You

We are looking for an experienced health service leader who has:

• Demonstrated knowledge and expertise in health service delivery and change management within a complex organisation.
• Proven ability to lead significant change, service reform, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate across multidisciplinary and District-wide teams.
• Experience evaluating, reviewing, and reporting on service delivery, performance, and improvement initiatives.
• Proven ability to manage multiple complex priorities and activities concurrently.
• A strong understanding of clinical governance, quality improvement, and strategies that support safe, effective, and patient-centred care.
• Strong strategic planning, problem-solving, project management, and organisational skills.
• The ability to develop productive relationships with senior executives, clinical leaders, government agencies, community stakeholders, and other partners.
• A commitment to building workforce capability and fostering a positive, inclusive, and collaborative workplace culture.
