Sales Representative - Tasmania

At Schneider Electric, we are seeking an  Sales Representative to drive sales growth and build strong customer relationships within a defined territory.

This is a highly customer-focused, field-based sales role where you will work closely with wholesalers, distributors, contractors, trade customers, and other businesses to understand their needs, identify opportunities, and deliver solutions that create value.

You will represent a broad portfolio of electrical distribution, energy management, automation, and connected solutions, helping customers improve how they manage, distribute, and use energy.

What you'll do

• Manage and grow a portfolio of customers across your territory, building strong and trusted commercial relationships.
• Develop new business opportunities while growing existing customer accounts.
• Regularly visit wholesalers, distributors, contractors, and trade customers to understand their needs and identify growth opportunities.
• Build strong relationships with key contacts across customer organizations and distribution partners.
• Work with wholesale and distribution partners to improve product availability, visibility, and sales performance.
• Create demand by engaging directly with customers, influencers, and end users.
• Introduce customers to new products, technologies, and solutions that can support their business and project needs.
• Deliver product presentations, demonstrations, training sessions, trade events, and customer activities.
• Develop and execute territory plans, prioritizing customers and opportunities based on growth potential.
• Identify market trends, competitive activity, and new business opportunities within your territory.
• Work collaboratively with internal teams to provide customers with the right products, solutions, and support.
• Monitor territory performance and take action to achieve sales and growth targets.
• Maintain accurate customer and opportunity information and use sales data and customer insights to prioritize your activities.

What we're looking for

We're looking for a commercially driven sales professional who enjoys being in the field, building relationships, and creating new business opportunities.

You will ideally bring:

• Experience in field sales, territory sales, account management, or business development.
• Experience working in industrial, wholesale, distribution, trade, or B2B environments.
• A proven ability to build and grow customer relationships across a defined territory.
• Strong commercial acumen and the ability to identify and convert growth opportunities.
• Confidence engaging with a diverse range of customers, including distributors, wholesalers, contractors, trade professionals, and business owners.
• Strong communication, negotiation, and influencing skills.
• A proactive and self-motivated approach, with the ability to manage your own territory and priorities.
• The ability to understand customer needs and translate them into practical product or solution recommendations.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple customers, opportunities, and priorities.
• The curiosity and willingness to learn technical products and understand their application in different customer environments.

Your industry experience

Experience in electrical, industrial products, building products, construction, HVAC, plumbing, tools, machinery, components, technical distribution, or other related industries would be advantageous, but is not essential.

We're particularly interested in people who have successfully sold products, equipment, components, solutions, or services through wholesale or distribution channels and understand how to build demand and grow sales across a territory.
