About the role

We are seeking a Lighting Sales Specialist to join our team at our Matraville NSW location. This is a full-time position that plays a crucial role in driving sales and delivering exceptional customer service within our retail environment. As a Lighting Sales Specialist, you will be the face of The Lighting Outlet, responsible for understanding customer requirements, recommending appropriate lighting solutions, and closing sales. This role is integral to our business success and offers the opportunity to make a tangible impact on customer satisfaction and revenue generation.

What you'll be doing

• Greeting customers and conducting needs assessments to understand their lighting requirements and preferences

• Providing expert product knowledge and recommendations on lighting solutions across residential, commercial, and industrial categories

• Demonstrating lighting products and their features, benefits, and applications to customers

• Building and maintaining strong customer relationships to encourage repeat business and referrals

• Processing sales transactions accurately and efficiently using point-of-sale systems

• Maintaining a thorough understanding of current inventory, pricing, and promotional offerings

• Assisting with window displays, product merchandising, and maintaining a clean, organised retail environment

• Following up with customers post-purchase to ensure satisfaction and address any concerns

• Collaborating with team members to achieve sales targets and contribute to a positive workplace culture

• Staying updated on industry trends, new products, and emerging lighting technologies

What we're looking for

• Proven experience in retail sales or a customer-facing sales role, ideally within the lighting, home improvement, or related industry

• Strong product knowledge or demonstrated ability to quickly learn and retain technical information about lighting products and applications

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage customers and build rapport

• Results-driven mindset with a track record of meeting or exceeding sales targets

• Proficiency with point-of-sale systems and basic computer skills

• Ability to work flexibly within retail hours, including potential weekend and evening shifts

• Strong organisational skills and attention to detail

• A genuine passion for customer service and problem-solving

• Desirable: Experience in lighting design, electrical knowledge, or familiarity with lighting terminology and standards
