Support Worker

Are you passionate about making a real difference in people’s lives? Happy Peeps is seeking lively, dedicated, and reliable Support Workers to support individuals living with psychosocial disabilities and mental health challenges.

This is an ongoing role with shifts available between 7:00am – 5:00pm, Monday to Sunday, offering flexibility and meaningful work every day.

• Immediate Start with Solid and Consistent Work Hours: Looking for someone who is available to work 8 + hours per week, Monday to Friday available daily and Saturday & Sunday on occasions.

• Flexible Locations: Work in homes and community, across New South Wales.

Your Role

• Support participants to develop and maintain healthy habits, daily living skills, and assist with light household tasks in line with their NDIS goals

• Work alongside participants to build independence and support them to work towards their individual goals

• Assist participants to access the community, including shopping, meal preparation, and community participation activities

• Support participants to attend medical and allied health appointments as required

• Provide flexible, person-centred support by meeting participants where they are at and responding to their individual needs

• Promote a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment where participants feel supported, empowered, and valued

• Be a positive, reliable, and encouraging presence in each participant’s day

What We’re Looking For:

Experience

• Previous experience as a Support Worker, or

• A relevant qualification in the field, or

• Demonstrated lived experience

• Strong understanding of mental health and psychosocial disabilities

Skills & Attributes

• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills

• Friendly, respectful, and professional demeanour

• Mature approach to work with a clear understanding of professional boundaries

• Ability to build rapport while maintaining appropriate workplace standards

Requirements:

• Blue Card (or willing to obtain)

• Yellow Card (Disability Worker Screening Clearance) (or willing to obtain)

• Queensland Driver's License and own reliable vehicle

• Comprehensive Car Insurance

• Current First Aid & CPR certification

• NDIS Orientation Module Certificate (or willing to obtain)

• Infection Control Certificate (or willing to obtain)

• Current Police Check (or willing to obtain)
