Senior Software Engineer – Client Transitions (Tue–Sat schedule)

About the Role We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to own and evolve our client transition capability across Registry, Managed Funds, and Employee Share Schemes (ESS).
This is a hands-on role focused on designing and building the systems that power large-scale data migrations, while taking end-to-end ownership of migration delivery. Every transition is unique, complex, and time-critical, requiring strong engineering judgement, deep data expertise, and the ability to deliver high-quality outcomes under pressure.
You will operate at the intersection of software engineering, data, and real-world execution, playing a critical role in onboarding new clients onto the Automic platform.
Working Pattern This role follows a Tuesday to Saturday schedule, aligned to client migration delivery cycles.Tuesday to Saturday working weekSaturday availability is essential, as critical client migrations are typically executed on weekendsWeekdays are focused on engineering, tooling, automation, and platform enhancements

Key Responsibilities include: Design, build, and enhance migration tooling using Java and Spring BootDevelop scalable data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, validation, reconciliation, and loadingLead complex client transitions from planning through to successful deliveryAnalyse, map, and reconcile large, complex datasets from incumbent platformsBuild reusable frameworks and automation to improve migration efficiency, quality, and scalabilityDrive performance, resilience, auditability, and data integrity across migration processesContribute to a cloud-native engineering environment leveraging AWSPartner with Product, Operations, and Implementation teams to ensure successful migration outcomesContinuously improve migration tooling, processes, and platform capabilities
About You! To be successful in this role, you will have:Strong experience developing backend applications using Java and Spring BootExperience building data-intensive systems and processing large datasetsStrong understanding of data structures, algorithms, and scalable system designExcellent problem-solving skills with the ability to navigate complex data challengesExperience working in time-critical environments and delivering high-quality outcomesA proactive, ownership-focused mindset with a passion for continuous improvementExperience with data migration, ETL, integration, or transformation solutions will be highly regardedExposure to AWS and cloud-native architecture will be highly regarded
