Food Services Officer

About the role

As a Food Services Officer, you will play an important role in supporting patient care by ensuring meals are prepared, assembled, and delivered safely, efficiently, and in accordance with dietary requirements. Working as part of a dedicated food services team, you will assist with food preparation, meal plating and distribution, dishwashing, cleaning, and general kitchen operations within a busy healthcare environment.

About you

Our ideal candidate will be someone who can carry out the following key accountabilities in accordance with the Metro North Health's values:

• Assist with the production of sandwich and cold food items as well as the preparation, plating, ordering and distribution of patient meals and mid meal beverage service as directed and an ability to interpret patient diet list for ward services. Ensuring tasks are performed in accordance with approved procedures and quality requirements.
• Undertake general kitchen duties including but not limited to operation of a flight through dishwasher, patient tray stripping, pot wash duties, pushing trolleys and general cleaning as directed, ensuring tasks are performed in accordance with approved procedures.
• Personnel performing duties of a Food Service Officer must have the physical attributes to effectively and safely undertake manual handling tasks such as lifting, pushing trolleys, plating meals and preparing meal trays and general cleaning duties on a daily basis.
