Position Profile and Role
The Senior Respiratory Sleep Scientist in Charge provides expert clinical and scientific leadership to promote excellence in sleep diagnostics, therapy, clinical education, and continuous quality improvement. The role manages sleep laboratory operations, leads technical development and digital innovation, and manages human and financial resources while supervising sleep scientists to ensure compliance with relevant standards, regulations and best practice guidelines. In collaboration with the Chief Respiratory and Sleep Scientist, the role contributes to the strategic development and implementation of sleep services across FSH and SMHS.

Fiona Stanley Hospital (FSH) is an 863-bed tertiary and quaternary hospital providing a broad range of specialised healthcare services. These include the State Rehabilitation Service, a comprehensive cancer centre, dedicated mental health facilities, maternity, paediatric and neonatal care, as well as the State Adult Burns Service. FSH also delivers highly specialised treatments such as heart and lung transplantation and hyperbaric medicine.
Adjacent to the hospital, the FSH Medihotel operates within the Aegis Health Building and provides an innovative extension of FSH healthcare services, operating 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
